Engine, Cooling & Gearbox parts for the Morris FV. May 1948 seen the first release of the Forward Control FV. it was an FVO 12/5 which in English means it was an FV model with 'O' meaning it had an Oil Engine or Diesel, the 12 means it had a 12' wheel base and the 5 referred to the 5 ton payload. The diesel fitted to this early model was a Saurer Diesel built under license in the Morris Commercial factory under a Saurer of Switzerland patent license. Later replaced by an in house designed diesel. The FV also went into a series two getting a new grille from the early LD van, even having the starter handle hole even though they nowhere near lined up with the crank hole on the pulley. It still retained the old flat screens but now they swung open and they worked independently. There was a Prime mover which arrived on the scene in 1950 and had a chassis of roughly 9' only and was recommended to be used with the current Scammell trailer. These trucks are very rare now, I believe there would be no more than ten world wide today. But... I have some parts lol.
