In 2006 I bought a Morris Commercial Truck, sight unseen off Ebay located in Queensland. Even though the 60+ year old truck was in good original condition with low miles there was always going to be age related problems, many concerning every single item made from rubber. Items like, Cabin seals, piping, grommets, engine and all other mountings. All these items will have either gone rock hard, cracked, disappeared altogether.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trying to find replacement parts for all of these took me 10 years of casual searching even then I had to hand make many of these parts. I then assembled my truck in 6 months. As I was nearing completion I decided that a business opportunity was staring me in the face to make the truck restorers job a little easier with restoration parts dedicated to the light truck market since nobody else was doing it. I created Vintage Truck Supplies and I started buying in stock slowly and getting parts reproduced that had been ‘No Longer Available’ for 30 or 40 years. My knowledge had to grow on the trucks I was going to be selling for so I read everything I could get my hands on and found through my Facebook pages & groups truck owners who helped me learn through their knowledge and experience.
